Supra Sewing Online, LLC Last updated: May 27, 2026 Effective: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This Product Safety & Manuals Policy forms part of our Terms of Service and Refund Policy and applies to all products sold on https://suprasewing.com. It explains the hazards inherent in the industrial and professional equipment we distribute, the role of manufacturer documentation, and the operator responsibilities you accept when you purchase from us.
1. Industrial Equipment Notice
Supra Sewing Online, LLC ("Supra Sewing", "we") sells industrial sewing, cutting, finishing, and ancillary equipment intended for use in commercial workshops, manufacturing facilities, and trained professional environments. Our products are not designed, certified, or sold as general consumer products. By placing an order you affirm that:
- You are a trained professional operator, or you will operate the equipment exclusively under the supervision of a trained professional;
- You have, or will obtain prior to first use, adequate instruction in safe operation, hazard recognition, lock-out / tag-out, and emergency response for the equipment you are purchasing;
- You will not permit minors, untrained persons, or impaired persons to operate the equipment;
- You will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and occupational-health regulations (including, where applicable, OSHA standards) at the place of operation.
These affirmations supplement, and are in addition to, the Assumption of Risk acknowledgments in Terms of Service Sections 11 and 11.1.
2. Product Manuals — Authored by the Manufacturer
Operation manuals, safety documentation, parts lists, wiring diagrams, threading diagrams, and other technical literature accompanying any product are documents authored, published, and controlled by the manufacturer of that product. Supra Sewing does not author manuals. As an authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller, we transmit the documentation supplied to us by the manufacturer.
We make commercially reasonable best-effort to include the manuals supplied by the manufacturer with each shipment. However, we do not warrant the completeness, accuracy, currency, translation quality, or fitness of any manufacturer-supplied documentation.
The absence, delay, illegibility, language, or inadequacy of a manual does not, under any circumstance, suspend or excuse the operator's independent obligation to obtain adequate training and instruction before operating industrial equipment. Industrial machinery must never be operated by an untrained person regardless of whether a manual is in hand.
How to request a missing or replacement manual
If a manual is missing, damaged, illegible, or in a language you do not read, you may obtain documentation through either of the following channels:
- Contact the manufacturer directly. Most manufacturers publish current manuals on their official websites or by email request. The brand list below identifies the channels we are aware of. The manufacturer is the authoritative source.
- Contact Supra Sewing at contact@suprasewing.com with the subject line "Manual Request — [Order Number]". As a courtesy and at no cost, we will attempt to route your request to the manufacturer and forward any documentation that the manufacturer makes available to us. This courtesy assistance is not a service contract, not a warranty, and creates no remedy (see Terms of Service Sections 9 and 10A).

3. Hazards by Product Category
Different categories of equipment we sell present different hazards. The list below is illustrative, not exhaustive, and does not replace the manufacturer's safety documentation for any specific product.
3.1 Sewing machines, overlocks, and coverstitch machines
Includes lockstitch, walking-foot, post-bed, cylinder-bed, button-hole, bartack, overlock, coverstitch, and embroidery machines.
- Needle puncture — high-speed reciprocating needles can pierce fingers, hands, and eyes; broken-needle fragments are projectile hazards.
- Entanglement — long hair, loose clothing, jewelry, lanyards, and gloves can be drawn into rotating shafts, take-up levers, hand wheels, or thread paths.
- Crushing & pinch points — presser feet, feed dogs, looper mechanisms, and clutch motors.
- Operator obligations — tie back hair; wear fitted clothing; use eye protection; remove jewelry; disconnect power before threading, oiling, clearing thread jams, changing needles, or removing covers.
3.2 Cutting equipment, skivers, and edge tools
Includes leather skivers, straight-knife and round-knife fabric cutters, band knives, die cutters, rotary cutters, overlock trim blades, industrial scissors and shears, and hand tools with cutting edges.
- Laceration, amputation, and puncture — the cutting edge is the working surface; the risk cannot be eliminated by design.
- Projectile hazard — broken or chipped blades can become projectiles.
- Operator obligations — wear cut-resistant gloves rated for the task and eye protection; keep all guards in place; never bypass safety interlocks; disconnect power and follow lock-out / tag-out procedures before blade changes, sharpening, or jam clearance.
3.3 Motors, servos, control boxes, and electrical components
Includes clutch motors, energy-saving servo motors, AC/DC drives, foot controllers, wiring harnesses, transformers, and 110V / 220V conversions.
- Electric shock and electrocution — line voltage circuits.
- Arc flash and burns — short circuits and improper switching.
- Fire — undersized circuits, improper grounding, or damaged insulation.
- Operator obligations — installation, voltage conversion, grounding, and wiring must be performed by, or under the supervision of, a qualified electrician in compliance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable state and local codes. Verify circuit capacity and proper grounding before energizing. Do not modify factory wiring.
3.4 Heavy equipment and freight handling
Most industrial sewing heads, table-mounted machines, crated cutting equipment, and pallet-shipped freight weigh 50 to 400 pounds or more.
- Lifting and back injury — manual lifting of heavy machines is a leading cause of workplace injury.
- Crushing and dropping — heavy machines tip easily; pallets can fall during unloading.
- Forklift and liftgate hazards — at receiving, during unloading, and during placement.
- Operator obligations — use mechanical lifting aids (forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, two-person lifts); ensure your receiving location has appropriate infrastructure (loading dock, liftgate, or forklift) — see Shipping Policy Section 5; inspect crating before opening; do not work alone when handling heavy crates.
3.5 Recommended PPE by category
The following PPE recommendations are general guidance; manufacturer documentation and OSHA standards control where they impose stricter requirements.
| Category | Minimum recommended PPE |
|---|---|
| Sewing / overlock / coverstitch | Eye protection; tied-back hair; fitted clothing; closed-toe shoes |
| Cutting / skivers / blade tools | Cut-resistant gloves (ANSI/ISEA 105 rated for the cut level of the task); eye protection; closed-toe shoes |
| Electrical install / service | De-energized work whenever possible; insulated tools; lock-out / tag-out by a qualified electrician |
| Heavy / freight handling | Steel-toe shoes; gloves; mechanical lifting aid |
4. Distributor Disclaimer
Supra Sewing is a distributor, dealer, or reseller of the products it sells. We do not design, manufacture, or assemble the machines, motors, blades, or components offered on https://suprasewing.com.
- Defects in design or manufacture of any product are the responsibility of the manufacturer of that product;
- Defects, omissions, or inaccuracies in any manual or other manufacturer-supplied documentation are the responsibility of the manufacturer that authored the documentation;
- Where the manufacturer is no longer in business, has discontinued the product, or is otherwise unreachable, Supra Sewing's responsibility is limited to the Supra Sewing Store Warranty described in Terms of Service Section 10 and the limitations of liability in Terms of Service Section 14.
Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable right that may apply under federal or state consumer-protection or product-liability law where Supra Sewing is part of the chain of distribution.
5. Reporting a Safety Concern, Incident, or Injury
If you believe a product you purchased from Supra Sewing has caused, or is likely to cause, a safety incident or injury, you must:
- Stop using the product immediately and remove it from service;
- Preserve the product, its packaging, manuals, and any related materials unaltered, and photograph the product, the alleged defect, and any injury or property damage;
- Report the incident in writing to contact@suprasewing.com with the subject line "Safety Report — [Order Number]" within a reasonable time, and follow the Injury-Related Claims process in our Refund Policy Section 9.5;
- Seek appropriate medical care independently — Supra Sewing does not provide medical advice or assess medical conditions.
Submitting a safety report does not constitute an admission of liability by Supra Sewing and is governed by Terms of Service Sections 11, 11.1, 13, 14, and 15.
6. California Residents
California imposes strict product-liability principles on participants in the chain of distribution of consumer goods. Nothing in this Policy is intended to disclaim any right, remedy, or protection that is non-waivable under California law, including but not limited to the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1790 et seq.) and Civil Code § 1668. Where any provision of this Policy conflicts with a non-waivable California protection, that protection prevails to the extent of the conflict. The remaining provisions of this Policy continue in full force.
Specific California savings clause. This Policy is not intended to, and does not, (a) exempt Supra Sewing from liability for its own negligence, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1668); (b) limit the Consumer's right to repair, replacement, or restitution under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1793.2, 1794); or (c) waive any right to seek public injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction (McGill v. Citibank, 2 Cal. 5th 945 (2017)). See Terms of Service § 17 for the corresponding arbitration carve-out.
A Spanish-language version of this Policy is available at https://suprasewing.com/es/policies/product-safety-policy for purposes of California Civil Code § 1632. The English version governs in the event of a conflict of interpretation, except as required by § 1632 for contracts negotiated primarily in Spanish with California residents.
7. Relationship to Other Policies
This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service (including Sections 10, 10A, 11, 11.1, 13, 14, and 15), our Refund Policy (including Section 9.5), and our Shipping Policy (including freight-handling requirements in Section 5). In the event of any apparent conflict between this Policy and another Supra Sewing policy, the more protective and more specific provision controls.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may modify this Policy by posting the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced on the Site. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that order.
