The operator grips it hundreds of times a shift, right above a soleplate running at full heat, and the plastic eventually cracks, loosens, or chars at the mounting points. When it does, the iron is unusable — but the heating element, soleplate, and steam system are usually fine.

This is the replacement handle assembly for the ES-300 / ES-300L gravity feed iron platform, a drop-in repair that puts a working iron back on the pressing table for a fraction of the cost of replacing the machine. Aftermarket part, supplied by Supra Sewing.
