Frequently asked
Does it arrive assembled?
Yes — we assemble, calibrate and test-stitch it in Miami before shipping. To protect the machine during freight, the head ships detached from the table; remounting takes minutes and we can walk you through it by phone.
Can I finance it?
Yes. You can split your purchase into monthly payments with Affirm (checking your rate takes seconds and won't affect your credit score), and Synchrony offers special financing on qualifying purchases (subject to credit approval). See your options on the financing page.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico?
Puerto Rico: yes. Freight is $150, and it's free on orders of $3,000 or more.
Alaska and Hawaii: parts and accessories ship there fine — USPS or UPS rates are calculated at checkout. But an industrial machine travels on a pallet by freight, and those two states can't be quoted automatically: get in touch before you order and we'll give you a firm price. +1 (954) 681-3894 or contact@suprasewing.com.
Warranty & support?
Yes — on top of the manufacturer's warranty, Supra Sewing backs your machine with our own coverage: 90 days on mechanical defects and 12 months on electrical & electronic parts — and since this is a Speedway, your electrical & electronic parts are covered for 18 months, serviced by our in-house techs in Miami, FL. Support in English & Spanish: +1 (954) 681-3894 or WhatsApp.

Description
Description
The SPEEDWAY® SW-101D is the direct drive version of the SW-101 blindstitch blind hemmer. It is the same Japan-style hemming head — same convertible swing arm, same LW×6T curved needle, same 1:1 and 2:1 skip stitch — driven by a 550W direct drive servo motor mounted straight to the machine instead of turning it through a belt.
On a blind hemmer that difference is felt at the start of every seam. Blind hemming is short-run work: a trouser hem, a curtain panel edge, a sleeve. The operator is starting, stopping, and repositioning constantly, and a belt-driven head has to overcome belt slack and inertia every single time. Direct drive responds immediately, stops where it is told, and holds a slow speed cleanly — which is exactly what invisible hemming needs, because the whole job is controlling how far the needle bites into the face fabric.
The rest is unchanged: a convertible swing arm that transitions from flatbed to a narrow cylinder arm for sleeves, cuffs, and pant legs; a needle depth dial for controlling exactly how invisible the stitch is on the garment face; and a knee lever for hands-free repositioning. It runs up to 2,500 SPM and ships assembled on an industrial table and stand.
What's Included
- SPEEDWAY® SW-101D blindstitch machine head (ships assembled)
- 550W direct drive servo motor
- Heavy-duty industrial sewing table
- Industrial stand with motor mount
- Swing plate work table
- Standard presser foot, needles, and looper
- Standard accessories kit (tools, oil can)
- Instruction manual
Key Features
- 550W direct drive servo motor — the motor is coupled directly to the machine, so there is no belt slack to take up and no belt loss. Immediate response, quieter running, and lower power draw than a belt-driven head
- Precise low-speed control — direct drive holds a slow, steady speed and stops exactly where the operator wants, which is what short blind-hem runs and repositioning actually demand
- Convertible swing arm — transitions from flatbed to a narrow cylinder arm for tubular work on sleeves, cuffs, and pant legs
- 1:1 and 2:1 skip stitch — controls how often the needle catches the face fabric, for a finer or a more secure blind hem
- Needle depth dial — precise adjustment of how deeply the needle bites, which is what determines whether the hem is truly invisible from the face
- Knee lever — hands-free presser foot lifting for continuous feeding and repositioning
- LW×6T curved needle system — the widely stocked blindstitch curved needle, interchangeable with 29BL, LW×2T and 2140TP, available in sizes 70/11, 80/12 and 90/14 so the needle can be matched to the fabric weight
- Investment-cast eccentric with bronze strap — durable needle connection assembly built for long service life
- Hardened shafts — reduced wear for extended machine life with minimal maintenance
- 2,500 SPM maximum speed for production hemming
Ideal For
- Drapery and curtain blind hemming — panels, valances, and lining hems
- Trouser, skirt, and dress invisible hems for tailoring and alterations
- Sleeve and cuff hemming using the cylinder arm configuration
- Alteration counters and dry cleaners doing high-volume same-day hemming
- Professional seamstress workrooms and garment repair operations
- Uniform and workwear hemming
- Shops replacing a belt-driven blind hemmer that is slow to start and stop
