The SW 168A is equipped with two operator-friendly upgrades not standard on the base 168 platform: a fully electric presser foot lifter and an integrated needle positioner, both controlled from the servo motor system. Together they accelerate sewing cycles, reduce operator fatigue, and keep the needle precisely up or down at the end of each seam — ideal for high-volume footwear assembly lines.

Built around an industry-standard CPx5 needle, a large ø 50 mm rotary hook, and a 230 mm working arm, the SW 168A handles shoe materials from 1.5 mm to 6 mm thick — leather, synthetic uppers, vulcanized rubber assemblies, and laminated reinforcements.
